15 thoughts on “Where to Eat

    • I had an OK experience at dinner almost a year ago but their brunch is still a good bet (and fun) on a sunny weekend day. Nordic food isn’t my dream cuisine in general, but the décor and garden at Olsen drive me wild.

  1. Hey, I think you should add Piola, a busy pizzeria in Libertad y Sta Fe with great atmosphere and seating both indoors and outdoors (there’s a little patio) and also Las Cabras in Palermo Hollywood at Fitz Roy and El Salvador, cheapest & most popular parrillada in the barrio, and again very popular.

  2. Great site! I would add Lo de Paka out in Belgrano, the BoBo Hotel in SoHo, and for that very special occasion, Tarquino in Recoleta featuring wunderkind chef Dante Liporace, who has brought back a treasure trove of training, experience and talent from his journey’s in Europe; most notably, a couple of stints at El Bulli.

Glad we agree that Filo has the best pizza in town. I tell everyone who is going to BsAs to check it out.

  3. Solid list overall, but definitely need to put on a few more there (or try them out, if you haven’t done so yet!), in my view:

    1) El Obrero – Great asado for those brave enough to venture into La Boca (take the 152, walk down Villafane and then Agustin Caffarena during the day, otherwise definitely cab it).
    2) Fervor – High-end dining in BA at its finest.
    3) Costumbres Criollos – Hands down the best empanadas in Capital Federal.
    4) Broccolino – Great pastas in downtown; it’s become pretty touristy but quality has not been compromised.
    5) Guerrin (sucursal Corrientes)- Great pizza place; highly recommend going late-night. This place is always packed.

I should stop there before my food-nostalgia builds up.

    • Hey ADL! Thanks for the tips. Funnny, we order from Costumbres nearly once a week – I could have sworn I’d updated my list to include it. When will you be back in BA? A reunion over some mollejas at El Obrero is far overdue.

  4. El Banco Rojo un Boliver in San Telmo. great falafal and spicy too! Origen on the corner of humberto primo y peru. good organic food. great salads and a great sandwich de lomo.

  5. You should add El Cuartito, the best pizza in Bs. As., it’s a classic. And L’Adesso move but I can’t remember where to.
